TD Bank Group Donates $225,000 to Help Children with Autism and Global Developmental Delays
MONTREAL, Nov. 28, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - TD Bank Group donates $225,000 to the Donald Berman Yaldei Developmental Centre's Another Chance Campaign. This gift will support early intervention therapy, schooling, parental and school coaching, and respite for children with autism and global developmental delays and their families. As part of this gift, a TD Reading Corner will be available in each classroom of the new home.
The Another Chance Campaign aims to fund the purchase and renovate Yaldei's new home, which will provide services to over 400 children with global developmental delays within the next few years.
"We all know a family or friend with a special needs child whose lives have been forever changed. With TD's support, children whose medical professionals said would never walk, talk, feed themselves or interact learn to do all these things and go on to realize happy and fulfilled lives. Our new Centre will be a landmark project for all Quebeckers", said Martin Schwartz, Campaign Chair.
''TD is a strong supporter of children's literacy and it goes without saying that the Donald Berman Yaldei Developmental Centre provides crucial services to children with special needs and their family,'' said Sylvie Demers, Chair, Quebec Market, TD Bank Group. ''We are touched to know that hundreds of children will be able to feed their imaginations with the stories available in the TD Reading Corners. It's an honour to contribute to the success of Yaldei's new home.''
