VARENNES, QC, Oct. 13, 2026 /CNW/ -- TCL Asset Group Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to manage the sale of surplus assets from the acquired Recyclage Carbone Varennes Waste/Biomass site. The site will be developed into North America's first large-scale low-carbon methanol production facility.
The site is located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River in Southwestern Quebec, Canada. The facility was built during 2022–2024 but was never operational. Available assets are installed or still in their original crates. This one-year project will consist of Private Negotiated Sales commencing immediately, as well as an Auction Sale scheduled for late October 2026. More information can be found at www.managingyourassets.com.
Assets available for sale will include an unused municipal mixed solid waste processing line, biomass processing line and material dryer, as well as new magnets, dust collectors, conveyor systems, pumps, motors, valves, general process MRO, new inventory, spare parts, and related assets. There is an opportunity to purchase or lease the building, land and equipment in-place and development land around it.
Inspection will take place by appointment only at the Varennes site ahead of the Auction, with detailed asset listings, photographs and condition notes now available on our website. Interested parties are encouraged to register early, as select high-demand lots are expected to sell by Private Negotiated Sale in the short term.
"We are very pleased to be managing this sale on behalf of StormFisher. TCL has handled plant closures and complete facility dispositions across North and South America for more than six decades, and that experience allows us to present, market and ultimately sell these assets quickly & efficiently. Buyers specializing in waste processing, recycling, biomass and pellet production will now have access to a never-commissioned facility, with zero operating hours." – Terrance Jacobs, CEO of TCL Asset Group Inc.
