Tamil Canadians condemn the terrorist attack on Parliament Hill
TORONTO, Oct. 23, 2014 /CNW/ - Tamil Canadians strongly condemn the despicable attack on the parliament hill yesterday morning by a lone gunman as well as the attack in Quebec.
The heartbreaking loss of Cpl. Nathan Frank Cirillo while giving a ceremonial honour guard to the National War Memorial is shared by all Canadians. Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was killed earlier this week by an ISIS-inspired terrorist. We extend our heartfelt condolences to their families and friends. Our security forces lay down their precious lives in defending this country so that we can be safe.
These violent acts are an attack on the freedom that all Canadians cherish. Our soldiers courageously fought many wars to ensure that those who are struggling in conflict-ridden countries also share the freedom we enjoy. This is all the more reason that we as Canadians should rally united against the evil that is trying to stop our role in our fight against such atrocities.
It is very heartening to see how bystanders responded to the injured along with the quick response of the law enforcement agencies. As the background and the motives of the terrorists are determined in the coming days we should be vigilant against those who want to take our freedom away.
As Canadians, we should be united in our fight against those who are opposed to the democratic values and freedoms we cherish. We are all in this together.
