OTTAWA, Feb. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Tactix Government Relations and Public Affairs Inc. today announced the appointment of the Honourable W. David Angus as Chairman.
Mr. Angus brings an extensive background in public policy, corporate governance and strategic leadership to Tactix. As Chairman he will deepen relationships with clients across Canada and abroad, providing advice on matters of public policy.

The Honourable W. David Angus was appointed to the Senate of Canada by the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney in 1993 and retired from the Senate in 2012. He served as Chairman of the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce as well as Chairman of the Standing Senate Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources. Under Senator Angus' leadership, the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee released in July 2012 a major public policy report on energy entitled, "Now or Never: Canada Must Act Urgently to Seize its Place in the New Energy World Order."
Mr. Angus has served on the boards of a number of Canadian public and private corporations, including Air Canada and Aon Reed Stenhouse Inc., and has served as Chairman of the Board of the McGill University Health Centre and of the Montreal General Hospital. He has a special interest in mental health issues and has provided major funding for mental health research and patient care facilities at the Montreal General Hospital. He is a Director of Brain Canada which, among other things, funds research aimed at unlocking the mysteries of the brain.
Mr. Angus is a graduate of Princeton University cum laude and of McGill University's Faculty of Law, First Class Honours. During his five-decade legal career with Stikeman Elliott LLP, Mr. Angus specialized in maritime, insurance and commercial law.
