T4G wins prestigious national tourism award

    My Trip Planner gets online innovation nod from Tourism Industry

SAINT JOHN, NB, Nov. 4 /CNW/ - T4G Limited, a leading national provider of project-based technology services, last night won the Pacrim Hospitality Services Inc. Online Innovation Award at a gala in Saint John, New Brunswick.

T4G shares the award with New Brunswick Tourism and Parks, the organization it built the electronic My Trip Planner for. Nominees for the tourism awards came from all ten provinces and Canada's north. Online innovation was one of 14 category winners at the 2009 National Awards for Tourism Excellence presented by The Globe and Mail.

"I have to salute Tourism New Brunswick," said T4G President Geoff Flood. "What a terrific partner; an organization ready and willing to not only listen to creative ideas, but work together to build upon them and implement them.

"It's a tough economy and it's been a tough year for the Canadian tourism industry operating in an environment of a high Canadian dollar," Mr. Flood added. "But Canada has so much to offer tourists from around the world, or around the country for that matter, and innovative new products and services like My Trip Planner help the industry showcase what Canada and Canadian tourist operators offer."

The Tourism New Brunswick-T4G trip planner is an online tool that helps travellers plan their trips by mapping out itineraries and sharing holiday plans with family and friends.

The National Awards for Tourism Excellence were developed in 2003 by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada to recognize and foster Canadian tourism excellence. The awards allow Canada's tourism industry to recognize those people, places, organizations and events that have gone above and beyond to offer a superior tourism experience to travelers in Canada.

The Tourism Industry Association of Canada is the voice of Canadian tourism.
