Software and services pioneer credits success to customer focus
MONTREAL, March 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Syntax, a leading provider of comprehensive technology solutions to a wide range of industries throughout North America, today announced it is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Close partnerships with industry giants such as Oracle and IBM have allowed the company to deliver cutting-edge business solutions that help its 500 global customers respond to constantly changing market dynamics.
"For 40 years, the Syntax team has been listening to our customers, responding to their needs, and anticipating their future requirements in order to keep them competitive," says company president Michael Etinson. "Expanding our industry footprint with key partnerships has allowed us to dramatically extend the value we bring to our customers, whose ideas fuel our team's objectives and new service offerings."
Founded by Etinson in 1972, Syntax now boasts over 140 professionals working at the company's Boston, New York, Toronto, and Montreal locations. Over the last four decades Syntax has evolved and grown a diverse customer base in such industries as distribution, retail, manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, utilities, and the public sector. What all its customers have in common is the need for industry-leading solutions that address enterprise-level IT challenges.
"Our partnership with Syntax is critical to our business," says IT manager Wayne Kuzek at Coast Wholesale. "I know that we can count on the Syntax team to meet our changing needs."
"The Syntax team works extremely well with our people," adds Bill Sandblom, director, MIS, at The International Group, Inc. (IGI). "They are knowledgeable about our business and technical requirements. That gives us the confidence to know that we can get where we need to go successfully."
Syntax takes early lead in packaged solutions market
A major industry milestone for Syntax was the company's introduction of Syntax Distribution Management (SDM) software in 1983. "We were an early provider of a true packaged solution for midrange customers, which simply didn't exist in the industry," Etinson says.
"SDM is tied to a deep understanding of what customers ask for, so the solution's functionality has always developed rapidly in lockstep with our customers' actual business objectives. The scope of this product continues to expand."
Syntax pursues partnerships to support emerging business needs
After becoming a high-value Oracle JD Edwards partner, Syntax expanded its North American footprint with offices in Toronto, New York, and Boston. "Our 15-year relationship with Oracle's JD Edwards has allowed us to expand our offerings considerably over the years across different industries and platforms," says Etinson.
As an Oracle Platinum Partner and IBM Premier Business Partner, Syntax continues to expand the scope of its strategic enterprise resource planning (ERP) capabilities. "Leveraging our key partnerships helps us provide worry-free reliability and scalability at the core of each offering," says Etinson. "For the past several years, Syntax has also been evolving its managed services practice, to offer further scalability options to our customers."
Managed services and cloud hosting drive road map for future success
"Our commitment to customer service and satisfaction will continue to define Syntax in the years ahead," says Etinson, who points to the company's leadership in emerging, business-critical areas such as cloud computing and managed services. "Acting as a one-stop shop for all hardware, software, and consulting services, we give our customers the freedom to concentrate on their core competencies. We plan on continuing our long tradition of unparalleled reliability—which we believe will be a primary reason for celebrating our 50th anniversary ten years from now."
Since 1972, Syntax has been providing comprehensive technology solutions to businesses of all sizes throughout North America. At Syntax we partner with IBM, Oracle, and other world-class technology leaders to deliver the best combination of hardware, software, and services to our customers.
