Sustainable Oils Adds Nick Flaman to Canada Camelina Production Team


<p>BOZEMAN, Mont., <chron>Dec. 9</chron> /CNW/ -- Sustainable Oils has added a Saskatchewan-based agriculture professional to its team focused on building camelina production and marketing opportunities for farmers.  Nick Flaman joined the company on <chron>December 1</chron> as a sales representative, responsible for contracting camelina production acres and providing technical and agronomic assistance to growers in Saskatchewan.</p>
<p>"Nick is a great addition to the Sustainable Oils team.  He brings strong agronomic expertise and experience in working with growers across Saskatchewan," said <person>Scott Johnson</person>, president, Sustainable Oils.  "We're excited to have someone on the ground working directly with our growers."</p>
<p>Flaman has managed his own agricultural consulting business, Living Sky Agronomy, since 2005.  He works with Canadian growers to manage crop plans and agronomic needs, as well as develop professional nutrient management and crop protection strategies.  He will continue managing Living Sky Agronomy in addition to his responsibilities with Sustainable Oils.</p>
<p>"Camelina holds strong potential for Canadian growers," said Flaman.  "I look forward to working with growers to identify ways for this new crop to bring additional value to their operations."</p>
<p>Flaman is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture.  Before starting Living Sky Agronomy, he worked as a technical coordinator for a CAUSE <location>Canada</location> Community Coconut Reforestation Project in <location>Honduras</location>, and as a field technician for Saskatchewan Environment.  He is also active in the management of his family's grain farm in Saskatchewan.</p>
