Special Donation Presentation by The Purina National™ Dog Show to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides
MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 24, 2015 /CNW/ - On Sunday, May 24, at the Harbourfront Purina Walk for Dog Guides, a cheque for over $29,000 was presented to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides from The Purina National, Canada's most prestigious dog show sponsored by Nestlé Purina PetCare Canada in partnership with the Canadian Kennel Club.
Nestlé Purina PetCare Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Kennel Club, had kept a portion of The Purina National's ticket sale profits for several years, with a goal of making charitable donations to worthy causes. Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides was a well-deserved recipient. Representatives from Nestlé Purina PetCare Canada and the Canadian Kennel Club were at the May 24 Purina Walk for Dog Guides to present the cheque.
"The Purina National, along with the Canadian Kennel Club, is thrilled to have been able to make this charitable donation to our long-time partner, Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides," said Lauralee Camilleri, Breeder Services Manager at Nestlé Purina PetCare Canada. "We know how expensive it is to train service dogs, and are pleased to have been able to help bring hope to families in need."
Also in attendance at the Harbourfront Purina Walk for Dog Guides was Nettle, the Lions Foundation of Canada Diabetes Dog Guide inducted to the Purina Animal Hall of Fame on May 4, along with her family: Terry and Beata Bordman, and their twin daughters Brooke and Jade.
