Studio 39 - Coming attraction: new studio space for local producers and artists just minutes from downtown Montreal Français
MONTREAL, Jan. 16, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Starting in spring 2013, Studio 39 (www.lestudio39.com), will open new film and rehearsal studios for local artists and TV and film producers. The spaces will be conveniently located minutes from downtown Montreal. Studio 39 is the brainchild of Station 29, an active player in the film industry for nearly 20 years.
Slated for inauguration in spring 2013, the first of three studios will feature a 2500-square-foot open area, the latest high-tech equipment and a full service, integrated production office. Users will have complete freedom regarding the choice of in-studio and post-production service suppliers.
Meeting a real need
"Mid-size studios are in short supply in the Province of Quebec. Based on our analysis, there is a definite need and demand for this studio format, particularly in the Montreal area," says Studio 39 co-founder Frédéric Sauvé.
The company plans to expand its offering adding two studios by spring 2014 to accommodate more film crews, and provide rehearsal space for dance troupes and musical ensembles. The Studio 39 founders will provide the total $500,000 investment required for the project.
A seasoned team
Studio 39 founders, Andrew Mikus and Frédéric Sauvé, are not newcomers to the television and film production industry. Since first meeting close to 25 years ago, they have earned an enviable reputation in digital post-production through their Station 29 company (http://www.s29post.com/Station_29_Postproduction_Numerique/ACCUEIL.html).
