Students in Ottawa Join National Day of Action for Free Education

Rallies at Carleton University and University of Ottawa, March to Parliament Hill

OTTAWA, Nov. 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Today students in Ottawa are taking to the streets and rallying on Parliament Hill for free education. The actions are part of a national day of action taking place all across the country as part of the Canadian Federation of Students' campaign for free education.


Students are calling on the federal and provincial governments to take immediate action to eliminate tuition fees, address mounting student debt and increase funding for Indigenous students through the Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP).

Students board busses for uOttawa at 11:30am.

University of Ottawa: 12 noon, Tabaret Lawn

Rally from 12:00 – 12:30pm.

Students march to Parliament Hill at 12:30pm.

March: 12:30pm – 1:00pm

From Tabaret Lawn (University of Ottawa) to Parliament Hill

Parliament Hill: 1pm

Rally from 1pm – 1:45pm.
