Mercedes-Benz has seen a 4.6% increase in sales of passenger cars and light trucks year-over-year, for a total of 37,637 units delivered. This impressive number was supported by the highest monthly AMG sales on record, which for the first time exceeded the 700 unit mark. Within the passenger car segment, November saw a notable 41.5% month-over-month increase in C-Class sales. While the C-Class Sedan continues to be a favourite among buyers, the newest models in the expanded range of the C-Class Family, the Coupe and the Cabriolet, are also generating a great deal of enthusiasm.
Year-to-date, sales of luxury light trucks were up by 10.8% for 17,891 units sold. In November, a strong performance across the luxury light truck portfolio resulted in 1,660 units retailed, for an increase of 16.1% month-over-month.
Mercedes-Benz Vans reported 5,383 units sold year-to-date, representing a growth of 21.4% over 2015. The division performed tremendously well throughout the month, with 490 units sold, a 40.8% increase over November 2015.
247 smart fortwo vehicles were delivered in November, which represented an additional 188 units compared to last year.
Year-to-date, the Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported sales of 14,806 units, up from 14,496 in 2015 for an increase of 2.1%. Month-over-month, a 1.2% growth saw the division retail 1,241 units, up from 1,226 in 2015.
"November was truly an outstanding month for Mercedes-Benz Canada. The company's year-to-date results have now propelled us beyond 2015's record-breaking year-end sales," said Brian D. Fulton, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. "Our successes are also reflected in the recognition that we have received from members of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada. The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe, the Mercedes-Benz E 300 4MATIC and the GLC 300 4MATIC each qualified in the top three of their respective categories in the Canadian Car of the Year competition. The new E-Class and the GLS have also been identified as top of their category by Car Guide/Le Guide de l'Auto. Not surprisingly, all of these models are selling extremely well. There is only one more month to go and I am confident everyone will continue to work as hard as they have all year!"
