GATINEAU, QC, Nov. 15, 2018 /CNW/ - Some concern has been expressed recently about the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB)'s removal of the issue of transportation of flammable liquids by rail from Watchlist 2018.
The TSB has explained its decision in letters to the Fédération québécoise des municipalités and The Hill Times, which are linked here.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
