Statement from the Canadian Medical Association on "Fatigue, Risk and Excellence", a report by the National Steering Committee on Resident Duty Hours Français
OTTAWA, June 27, 2013 /CNW/ - The CMA welcomes the recommendations contained in the report released today on resident duty hours. Canadian health care operates 24/7 and patients deserve high-quality care from healthy doctors at all hours. Implementing the recommendations of this report will help ensure well-trained, healthy and alert doctors are ready to meet the medical needs of Canadians at any hour of the day. The CMA also takes very seriously the need to inform and educate the practising physician community about the effects of fatigue and to provide resources and advice on strategies to mitigate both the incidence of fatigue and its effects.
