OTTAWA, April 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Once again this year, members of Quebec's television industry provided audiences with top-quality programs and series that keep us informed, tell our stories, and help shape our identity. During the Gala Artis, it is the audience's turn to pay well-deserved tribute to Quebec professionals of the small screen.
Our Government knows the importance of arts and culture to our society and Quebec's economy. Film and television production in Canada generates more than $5 billion in economic activity each year and creates 128,000 jobs.
On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to commend Quebec's television professionals on their talent, creativity, and innovative spirit. I applaud their outstanding contribution to our culture. Congratulations to all of this year's nominees and award winners, including:
- Denis Bouchard (Actor in a Quebec television series)
- Hélène Florent (Actress in a Quebec television series)
- Guy A. Lepage (Male personality of the year)
- Véronique Cloutier (Female personality of the year)
