Star-Orion South Diamond Project - Public Comment Invited on Proposed Scope
of the Environmental Assessment
OTTAWA, April 28 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency invites the public to comment on the proposed scope of the federal environmental assessment of the Star-Orion South Diamond Project in the Fort à la Corne Provincial Forest, located approximately 60 km east of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
The scoping document describes the requirements of the federal environmental assessment process and identifies key issues to be addressed in the comprehensive study.
Public comments received by May 31, 2010 will be considered. All written submissions received will be considered public and will become part of the public registry. Interested persons or groups are invited to send their comments in the official language of their choice to:

Shore Gold Inc. is proposing to construct, operate, maintain and eventually decommission an open-pit diamond mine, processing facilities and associated infrastructure in the Fort à la Corne Provincial Forest.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Natural Resources Canada, and Transport Canada are required to ensure the conduct of a comprehensive study environmental assessment under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency administers the federal environmental assessment process, which identifies the environmental effects of proposed projects and measures to address those effects, in support of sustainable development.
