WINNIPEG, June 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Mr. Demetro Danyluk, coach and teacher at St. Mary's Academy in Winnipeg for over 25 years was named the Manitoba High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) high school Coach of the Year June 18 at The Grey Cup Legacy Fund 2012 High School Coach of the Year Awards.
Mr. Danyluk has been Athletic Department Head at the school for the past 20 years. He is a member of various provincial sports associations and convener for High School Sports, conducts coaching clinics, seminars and development camps, and is a marathon runner. Under his leadership countless SMA teams have achieved championship status.
"Mr. Danyluk is a respected, caring and supportive teacher and completely committed to student/athletic development at St. Mary's Academy" said Jen O'Leary, Physical Education Specialist at SMA. " His work and involvement are awe-inspiring and I am honoured to be his colleague and to work along side of him. "
