TORONTO, Aug. 2, 2017 /CNW/ -SPOT COFFEE (CANADA) LTD. (TSX-V: SPP) ("SPoT" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that, upon obtaining the necessary building permit, has immediately begun construction of its first drive-thru, which will be added to its SPoT Transit location in Clarence, New York. The addition of the drive-thru provides an added revenue stream for this particular café, which is located in a high vehicular traffic area, in the form of a new "quick serve" option for patrons on the go.
Furthermore, SPoT is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Vice-President of Franchise Operations, Mr. Mark R. Cornwell. Mr. Cornwell will be replacing Ms. Megan Burns-Moran, who has recently resigned from SPoT Coffee in order to pursue personal business goals.
"We wish Ms. Burns-Moran all the best in her future endeavours, and we look forward to the experience, energy and work ethic that Mr. Cornwell brings to our organization," said Anton Ayoub, President of SPoT Coffee. "His past accomplishments in franchise development and growth roles will certainly make a very positive impact on our program in 2017 and beyond."
Mr. Cornwell lead a full team of district managers, restaurant managers and over 2,300 employees in Western New York during his time with McDonald's, one of the largest quick-serve restaurant franchise operations in the United States. He was responsible for increasing site locations from 9 to 43 in just 5 years, and managed 8 rebuilds and 4 relocations. Mr. Cornwell also managed vendor relationships and was personally responsible for purchase and sale agreements related to 35 acquisitions.
Finally, SPoT is proud to announce the opening of its new SPoT Waterfront Village franchise location in Buffalo, New York.
