The portfolio includes 80 & 85 Citizen Court and 4118 14th Avenue in Markham; 5781–5789 Steeles Avenue West and 1118–1126 Finch Avenue West in Toronto; Vellore Corners at 3700–3900 Rutherford Road and 9311–9333 Weston Road in Vaughan; and Dixie Aimco Plaza at 1510–1530 Aimco Boulevard in Mississauga. The properties are located in established GTA submarkets and provide Soneil with additional scale and diversification across several commercial real estate asset classes.
"This was a unique opportunity to acquire six high-quality properties in great locations across the GTA," said Neil Jain, President and CEO of Soneil Investments. "The industrial assets are part of our core strategy, but the retail assets were particularly compelling to us. Well-located, necessity-based retail has become one of the strongest and most sought-after asset classes in the GTA, and we believe both retail properties are exceptionally well positioned for the long term. This was also the most competitive bid process we have ever participated in, which speaks to both the quality of the portfolio and the depth of demand for well-located GTA real estate."
