Sonaca Montreal and Triumph Aerostructures - Vought Aircraft Division conclude a $20 million agreement
MIRABEL, QC, Oct. 16, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - On August 31, Sonaca Montreal and Triumph Aerostructures - Vought Aircraft Division have signed a $ 20 million agreement. The contract relates to the manufacturing of wing panels for future Bombardier's business jets - Global 7000* and Global 8000* aircraft.
In the context of its attendance at the 2012 "Journée des donneurs d'ordres / fournisseurs" organized by Sous-Traitance Industrielle du Québec (STIQ), Sonaca Montreal is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with a new customer in USA.
At the EBACE (European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition) 2011 in Geneva, Triumph Aerostructures - Vought Aircraft Division (Triumph), a Triumph Group company, met with Sonaca Montreal representatives and learned more about its reputation and expertise for wing panels manufactured for the civil and business aviation industries.
Following that convention, the company based in Dallas, Texas, has awarded Sonaca Montreal a 5-year contract to manufacture wing panels for the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft.
Parts production for this contract will begin in December. To fulfill the agreement, Sonaca Montreal plans to create 15 new jobs over five years.
By expanding its business with Triumph, Sonaca Montreal continues to strengthen its leadership in the integration of manufacturing large aerospace aluminum structures. The confidence Triumph places in Sonaca Montreal also reflects the recognition of its high skills and experience.
