TORONTO, Oct. 17, 2014 /CNW/ - Softchoice, one of the largest IT solutions and managed services providers in North America, is proud to announce it has been awarded a contract under the NASA Solutions for Enterprise-wide Procurement (SEWP) V Government-Wide Acquisition Contract. The contract for computer technologies, awarded to 43 different providers, extends for a period of 10 years and has an estimated value of up to US$20 billion.
"Being re-named a prime SEWP contractor is a testament to the technical acumen and experience of Softchoice's U.S. Federal Government team, which has proven their ability to deliver for high-profile clients in the federal space," said David MacDonald, Softchoice's President and CEO. "With this new contract, we are excited to help our legacy clients, and new clients, take advantage of the latest in computer technology – driving cost savings wherever possible – from the desktop, to the data center, to the cloud."
Softchoice was previously a prime contractor under the SEWP IV program, which commenced in 2007 and will end with the phase-in of SEWP V this month.
SEWP Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts are available for ordering by all NASA centers, all federal agencies and their contractors. The principal purpose of the SEWP V contracts is to provide clients with state-of-the-art computer technologies, high-end scientific and engineering processing capabilities, network equipment and peripherals.
"I'm excited that our Softchoice team will continue to foster the loyal, long-lasting client relationships that we developed over the course of SEWP IV well into the next decade," said Steve Levine, Softchoice's Vice-President of Sales, U.S. Public Sector. "We welcome the chance to work with NASA and all federal agencies again to provide great technology, dedicated resources, and trusted purchasing advice as they move into the next evolution of enterprise IT."
For over a decade, Softchoice has enjoyed strong growth in the U.S. public sector. The continuation of the NASA SEWP Government-Wide Contract significantly enhances Softchoice's contract portfolio, giving Softchoice the opportunity to build on an existing U.S. federal government client-base that includes the Treasury Department, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Justice.
