By investing in the production capacity of businesses, the Government of Canada is staying true to its commitments and helping businesses expand, innovate and export their products to create high-quality jobs and ensure the prosperity of our national and regional economies.
Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, David Lametti, Member of Parliament for LaSalle‒Émard‒Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, announced that G4 – R-D Inc. (website in French only) has been granted $99,500 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, to increase production capacity, optimize manufacturing processes and develop an international marketing strategy.
G4 ‒ R-D is an SME that manufactures and repairs forestry equipment, such as saw heads, blades and teeth; rotating tilting systems; and delimber blades. Known since 1986 as Usinage G.N. Roy, the business was acquired in 2012 by a group of investors who renamed it G4 ‒ R-D Inc.
The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will help the business acquire and install a bridge crane, a hoist, production software and a wall with a rolling service door; develop an international marketing strategy; and improve its website.
