SMART and Teq Reach Historic Agreement to Provide Software to New York State Schools
- More than 450 New York state school districts to have easy access to SMART software at a preferred rate

CALGARY, June 24, 2014 /CNW/ - SMART Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA), a leading provider of technology solutions that enable inspired collaboration in schools and everywhere children learn, joins Teq, a leading SMART channel partner to announce an agreement with the New York State Instructional Technology Contract Consortium through 24 of the Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) of New York State to purchase SMART software under Cooperative Service 6360. The first State-wide agreement of its kind for SMART and Teq, it enables more than 450 school districts, encompassing over 4,000 schools in New York State to purchase the full suite of SMART software from Teq at a preferred, pre-negotiated rate. The districts will be eligible for BOCES aid to help finance their purchases.
BOCES provides shared educational programs and services to school districts in New York State. This agreement with SMART and Teq allows districts to acquire the latest SMART software. It provides access to an unlimited subscription-based teaching, learning and collaboration software package, which includes SMART Notebook 2014, the latest version of the world's most popular collaborative learning software, SMART amp, a new and revolutionary web-based software platform that can be used on virtually any Internet-enabled device, and SMART Notebook Advantage, an annual maintenance and upgrade package that allows schools and districts to access a comprehensive suite of plug-ins, widgets, learning content and subject-specific add-ons while using the latest version of SMART Notebook software. The agreement will help New York State teachers and students take full advantage of all educational possibilities in their technology-enabled 21st century classrooms.
