Slate U.S. Opportunity (No. 2) Realty Trust to Acquire Retail Asset in North Carolina

TORONTO, May 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Slate U.S. Opportunity (No. 2) Realty Trust (the "Trust") announced today that it has entered into a binding agreement to purchase Independence Square, a 190,361 square foot grocery-anchored shopping center in the Charlotte metropolitan area for U.S.$22,900,000 (U.S. $120 PSF) at an approximate 8.2% going-in cap rate. The property is anchored by a Walmart Neighborhood Market. The acquisition is expected to be completed in second quarter 2013 and remains subject to customary closing conditions. Slate Properties Inc. ("Slate") is the Trust manager.
