The Rainbow will gift Skittles during the wackiest time of the year
TORONTO, Oct. 13, 2017 /CNW/ - Skittles brand kicks off Halloween early this year, on the spookiest of days, Friday the 13th. As Canadians start thinking of costume ideas and doubling down on decorations, the Skittles team will trick and treat their fans throughout October.
"Skittles loves to bring a little unexpected fun into any situation, with a twist of course," says Laura Amantea, marketing director at Wrigley Canada and lifelong Skittles fan. "We're thrilled to recognize Canadians for all they do to make Halloween just awesome."
Today, from 6 a.m.-11 p.m., Skittles brand is bringing the Rainbow to 277 Queen Street West in Toronto. Kids and kids-at-heart are encouraged to visit for an opportunity to get an early Halloween treat of Skittles, using #Skittles31Donation.
To make matters even sweeter, each valid tweet using #Skittles31Donation sent between October 13-31 will raise $0.31 (up to a maximum donation of $5,000.30) for Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada, Wrigley Canada's charitable partner and friend of the Rainbow.
"As a national partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada, Wrigley Canada is proud to bring smiles to the families that rely on their incredible services and support. Our national partnership comes to life through associate volunteering, corporate funding and special brand activations – just like this very Skittles activation. We hope Canadians will make a simple gesture and join us in supporting Ronald McDonald Houses," says Amantea.
The Halloween festivities continue as Skittles fans and super-moms, Cat & Nat, host the 'Halloween Hero' contest. The contest winner, chosen on October 20, will win the ultimate Halloween experience which includes a fully stocked, one-of-a-kind Skittles vending machine for treat hand out and epic Halloween décor in true Skittles fashion.

About Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada
RMHC Canada is the national foundation of support for Canada's 15 Ronald McDonald Houses, 16 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and 2 Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles across the country. Collectively, these programs support over 30,000 families each year, providing access to quality health care and enabling family-centered care. All, by keeping families close – one family at a time.
The 15 Ronald McDonald Houses across the country provide a home for out-of-town families whose children are being treated at a nearby hospital, while the 16 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer families a place to rest and recharge right inside the hospital. Completing our circle of support are 2 Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles, mobile health units that bring medical care to underserved communities in Alberta.
