Sheridan to honour top companies with Big Picture Awards

    this year's Big Picture Gala.
    

OAKVILLE, ON, Sept. 15 /CNW/ - Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning will present Big Picture Awards to five industry leaders during the Big Picture Gala to be held at the Pearson Convention Centre on October 22, 2009 . This event puts the spotlight on outstanding education, people and achievement, and recognizes innovators in the arts, business, community services, and technology.

Delivering value and a reputation for excellence are traits Sheridan shares with many successful organizations. The Big Picture Awards present the opportunity for Sheridan to acknowledge a select number of corporations and organizations for their outstanding leadership, their willingness to innovate, and their commitment to excellence.

Gala Honouree

Corus Entertainment Inc. will take the spotlight as Sheridan's top honouree for the evening. Corus Entertainment's outstanding reputation and work delivering compelling, engaging, and informative content to millions of people every day, exemplifies their commitment to excellence and continually positions them as a leader in the Canadian media and entertainment industry.

Innovation and Achievement Awards

Four awards will be presented to organizations and community groups that have demonstrated a commitment to Sheridan while leading their fields in innovation and achievement. During the evening, Sheridan will recognize 'Big Picture' thinkers in:

    
    * Arts: Fujifilm Canada;
    * Business: Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life;
    * Technology: Pratt & Whitney Canada; and,
    * Community service: Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities.
