In September, Mercedes-Benz Canada retailed 4,222 passenger cars and luxury light trucks, a 17.6% sales increase over September 2016. That total comprised 1,982 passenger cars (+4.7%) and 2,240 luxury light trucks (+31.9%). In the passenger car segment, these numbers were supported by strong monthly sales of the CLA and E-Class Sedan, while in the luxury light truck segment the GLA SUV and GLC SUV stood out as top performers.
Year-to-date, the number of Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles and luxury light trucks sold has risen to 34,735, a growth of 12.5% over the same period in 2016. A total of 17,697 passenger cars (+8.7) and 17,038 luxury light trucks (+16.6%) have been delivered in 2017. The ongoing popularity of the E-Class and C-Class families of vehicles, as well as the GLC SUV and GLS, supported this growth.
In September, Mercedes-Benz Vans delivered 505 units. So far in 2017, the division has seen a 9.3% increase in sales with 4,795 units retailed year-to-date.
33 smart fortwo vehicles were delivered in September.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division earned its best-ever September results with 1,576 units delivered (+1.9%), of which 1,206 were Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. Year-to-date, the division has sold 13,155 units (+6.8%), up 6.8% over last year's total of 12,323, of which 10,455 were Certified Pre-Owned.
"Three record-breaking quarters have kept us on a solid course in 2017," says Brian D. Fulton, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada. "Healthy inventories of high-demand product, coupled with a stunning new lineup of incoming 2018 models, have contributed to this success. Of course, none of this would be possible without the unwavering dedication and performance of our dealer partners."
