Sears Canada launches its updated shoppable iPad application with the Christmas Wish Book and latest LOOK! report

Sears, at your fingertips

TORONTO, Sept. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - Its fashions are stylish and its tips are invaluable to Canadians who want to be on trend for the upcoming season: it's the newest Sears LOOK! report.  The Fall 2013 edition has been published and distributed coast to coast.  Now it is also an iPad app, part of Sears Canada's well known Catalogues iPad application, which also includes the recently-released Christmas Wish Book.

The 2013 Wish Book, one of the most trusted authorities for all Holiday must-haves and really-wants, is back again in the app, currently the #1 free iPad app in Canada in the Catalogue category.

The Sears iPad Catalogues app is automatically updated with seasonal catalogues and the quarterly LOOK! reports throughout the year, without the need for additional downloading, and users have access to exclusive notifications of new catalogues and promotions. Once the Catalogues app has been downloaded the first time from the Apple iTunes store, the most recent Sears catalogues will appear as soon as they are released in printed form to Canadians nationwide. The app also features a smart, responsive pinch and zoom function, as well as a simple intuitive navigation and browsing experience.

"Sears wants to engage with customers in ways that are relevant and meaningful to them," said Calvin McDonald, President and CEO, Sears Canada.  "For many Canadians who have grown up in the electronic age, the Catalogues iPad app provides an easy and familiar way to see what's new and place an order at the same time. As the country's leading gift guide and fashion trend barometer for the season, the Wish Book and LOOK! report iPad apps, respectively, are the retail industry's leading publications in shopping technology and innovation."

New for the 2013 Wish Book:

  • A search engine overhaul to help find just the right gift

Like 2012, some of the highlights of the Sears Catalogues App featuring the 2013 Wish Book include:

  • Wish Lists: Each family member can create their own Wish List of must-haves and share via email, Twitter or Facebook
  • Bookmarks: Highlight individual pages to remember that special gift for that special someone
  • Sears Products go Social: Share individual products via email, Twitter or Facebook to let everyone know the wishes of the season.

With thousands of products to choose from in the Sears Catalogues app, now featuring the LOOK! report in addition to seasonal catalogues and the Holiday Wish Book, Sears Canada is the destination for a pleasant, easy, hassle free shopping experience.

The Sears Catalogues app for iPad is available for download via the Apple iTunes App Store or www.sears.ca/iPad.
