In store and online sale to take place from October 11 - 17
TORONTO, Oct. 10, 2013 /CNW/ - A new study has shown that almost seven out of ten respondents want Canadian retailers to offer Black Friday sales. Respondents were split on whether the sales should be held in October or November, so Sears Canada is giving them both and introducing the country's first ever Black Friday sale to accompany Canadian Thanksgiving.
The poll, which was conducted among a random sample of the general population in Canada, revealed that respondents who shop November Black Friday sales do so for big deals and to purchase gifts for the Holidays. Now, Sears is the first retailer to also give Canadians the great promotional offerings during Canadian Thanksgiving in October.
"Our customers already participate in our Black Friday sale in November so we wanted to give them one that, in a similar style to the U.S., would accompany our own Thanksgiving Holiday," said Doug Campbell, President and CEO, Sears Canada. "With the variety of sales being offered in stores and online they can pick up new home essentials or even get a head start on their Holiday shopping."
The survey showed that customers were uncertain that Black Friday deals offered by Canadian retailers would be comparable to those of American retailers in November. Contrary to this belief, Sears Canada is offering a substantial variety of deals in stores and online at Sears.ca to celebrate the first ever Canadian Thanksgiving Black Friday sale including:

About the Survey
The study, conducted between September 30 and October 2, was a national online study based on a survey with a random sample of the general population in Canada completed in both English and French using a Vision Critical consumer panel (n=511).
