Gift Cards on sale at Sears starting December 4
TORONTO, Dec. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Sears Canada has partnered with Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada (BGCC) to produce limited edition Holiday gift cards. A national contest was held, with submissions received from youth in Clubs across the country. Three submissions were selected, and each of the three artists won a $500 Sears gift card and a pizza lunch for that child's club.
Sears congratulates the following youth on their winning submissions:
Tyra, age 19 - Boys and Girls Club of Yorkton
Lina, age 13 - Fraserview Boys and Girls Club
Raven, age 6 - McCauley Boys and Girls Club
Starting today, these limited edition gift cards will be sold at Sears retail stores and online at www.sears.ca/giftcard. Sears will donate $1 from the sale of each limited edition gift card to Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada up to the amount of $25,000.
"Sears has been a supporter of Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada for over 47 years and since 2001 has provided over $2 million in support to Boys and Girls Clubs after-school programs across Canada," said Doug Campbell, President and CEO, Sears Canada. "Sears continues to show its commitment to the healthy development of Canadian youth through the annual charity golf tournament, Tree of Wishes Holiday gift program with Sears retail stores, annual charity plush toy sales and Sears After-School Enhancement Grants."
"We are so proud of Raven, Lina and Tyra and of the hundreds of Club youth who entered the contest," said Pam Jolliffe, President and CEO, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. "It's a wonderful opportunity for children and youth to express their creativity, while helping Clubs across Canada at the same time.
