WATERLOO, ON, Sept. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Sandvine (TSX: SVC), a leading provider of intelligent broadband and network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that Sandvine's Managed Business Services was voted winner of the Network Appliances category as part of the Intel® Network Builders Network Transformation Contest hosted at the Intel Developers Forum (IDF) in San Francisco, California.
The Intel Network Builders Network Transformation Competition was established as a way to recognize some of the most innovative SDN and NFV solutions that are being offered by companies who are part of the Intel Network Builders ecosystem. The judging panel was comprised of Intel and industry thought leaders.
Sandvine's Managed Business Services was recognized in the network appliance category because it allows network operators to offer their business customers real-time traffic visualization, productivity tools, network security and other policy-based solutions, through a centralized web-based portal. The solution is run in the network as an independent software instance for each business, which is managed through OpenStack in a carrier cloud virtual infrastructure that allows for on-demand provisioning and elastic capacity.
"Sandvine is honored to be seen as one of the most innovative SDN and NFV solutions currently being offered" said, Don Bowman, CTO, Sandvine.
"The Network Transformation innovation contest conducted by the Intel Network Builders program received many outstanding contest entries from our ecosystem partners," said Renu Navale, manager of the Intel Network Builders program. "Sandvine is a winner in the Virtual Network Appliance category. Their solution is an innovative example of the potential of SDN and NFV to transform service provider networks. We look forward to continuing our work with Sandvine and the Intel Network Builders ecosystem to accelerate the awareness and adoption of these technologies."
