WATERLOO, ON, Jan. 11, 2017 /CNW/ - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that it has received orders totaling over $4 million from a Tier 1 converged mobile/fixed communications service provider (CSP), headquartered in Sandvine's APAC sales region.
The Tier 1 CSP has purchased Sandvine's PTS 32000 series platform and software licenses to support a number of strategic use cases. The operator will use Sandvine's solution to launch application-based service plans for subscribers so that they can select the plan that best suits their Internet usage preferences. Additionally, Sandvine's business intelligence products, including Network Analytics and the Record Generator feature, will give the CSP unparalleled, actionable insight into Internet traffic on its network. Together, the business intelligence capabilities provide the CSP with the flexibility to view key metrics on network traffic and quality of experience for the user in pre-configured dashboards or in customized formats, either within the Sandvine product or as part of the CSP's Big Data solution.
"The strength of Sandvine's solutions starts with an unmatched quality and quantity of data on network traffic and the user experience. We also allow service providers to present that data how they want and in the solution they want – whether our own product or merged into a broader Big Data solution," said Tom Donnelly, Sandvine's COO, Sales and Global Services. "The quality of Sandvine's data also means that our customers can confidently implement application-based tiers, like gaming, video or music streaming tiers, which differentiate their offerings and ensure that subscribers are charged appropriately for the full variety of their favourite applications."
Sandvine will be demonstrating its ongoing leadership in business intelligence for CSPs in a January 31, 2017 webinar entitled Advanced Metrics for the Encrypted World. Recently, Sandvine also held a webinar and published whitepapers on Best Practices for Application Zero-Rating, focusing on revenue assurance and fraud prevention.
