Samsung Canada Launches Big Innovations with 90 - second Super Bowl Commercial
Technology leader set to unveil Galaxy Note and help Canadians experience technology and the game in a revolutionary way
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 31, 2012 /CNW/ - Samsung Electronics Canada Inc., the No. 1 TV and mobile phone provider in Canada1, is ready to capture the attention of the 7 Million Canadians set to watch the Super Bowl this Sunday with their first-ever Super Bowl ad and newest device, the Galaxy Note. Samsung consumers will also enjoy a heightened viewing experience with the Smart View app enabling their phone and TV to automatically connect so not a moment of the game is missed.
From start to finish Canadians are actively engaged in the game with few interruptions allowed, except when it comes to the ads. Samsung handpicked Bobby Farrelly to direct his first ever TV commercial. Farrelly, along with his brother, Peter, created the famous comedy films There's Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin and Fever Pitch. In fact, part of the commercial was shot using the Galaxy Note's HD-quality video camera for the ad, a Super Bowl first.
"The Super Bowl is the one chance each year to reach a massive audience, and there's no better place than the biggest stage in sports, entertainment and marketing to introduce one of the most exciting, new products of the year," said Paul Brannen, Vice President and General Manager, for Samsung Mobile Communications. "Everything about this product launch campaign had to be as big as the Galaxy Note. We created one of the longest ads of any Super Bowl advertiser this year and are proud that our Canadian consumers will be able to enjoy it."
Capitalizing on consumer chatter, Canada has launched the 'The Next Big Thing' prequel to one of the most talked about advertising spots in this year's Super Bowl. It's also the perfect platform to launch the hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note, a smartphone as big as the game itself.
The Samsung Galaxy Note is the much anticipated addition to the Galaxy family of smartphones. With a 5.3" HD Super AMOLED™ Screen, and an innovative S pen™ for unique multiple input options, the phone has the convenience of a smartphone and the power of a tablet, making it the ultimate primary device.
To help Canadians stay connected to the game, Samsung's Smart View app is Wi-Fi remote control for Samsung Smart TV. If both your phone and TV are connected to the same wireless Router, your phone will link to the TV automatically where you can use your phone like a remote control. The TV can also transfer live feeds to your phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Note will be available in-store starting February 14th through Bell, Rogers, and Telus.
