FARMINGDALE, N.Y. and MARKHAM, Ontario, Oct. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - Robocom Systems International announced today that Safelite AutoGlass®, the nation's leading vehicle glass repair and replacement company, has selected Robocom's Voice Module (R-Voice) to be implemented in its US based distribution centers.
The Safelite AutoGlass US distribution network consists of a manufacturing facility in Enfield, North Carolina, distribution centers in Braselton, Georgia and Ontario, California, and a series of warehouses spread out across all 50 states. Robocom's Voice Module will be implemented in the Braselton, Georgia and Ontario, California distribution centers where Safelite already leverages Robocom's Warehouse Management System to manage over 600,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space.
"Productivity improvements of 15% and a 99.99% inventory and shipping accuracy have been achieved as a result of implementing Robocom's WMS," says Rich Glover, AVP of Manufacturing and Distribution at Safelite. "Robocom's R-Voice will allow us to leverage the existing WMS business flows that already meet our operational requirements today. Voice communications will free the hands and eyes of our workers for more productive activity and drive additional productivity gains and a safer work environment," added Glover.
"R-Voice is designed to optimize labor intensive case and loose pick operations, while still handling full pallet activity," said Fred Radcliffe, Robocom President. "Our products improve accuracy, increase productivity, reduce transportation costs and provide essential information to Supply Chain Managers and Executives. The selection of R-Voice demonstrates the confidence Safelite has placed in Robocom as a partner and we are excited to have the opportunity to broaden the implementation of our solutions at Safelite."
