Russell Investments announces changes to Russell LifePoints All Equity Portfolio and Russell LifePoints All Equity Class Portfolio

TORONTO, Feb. 24, 2016 /CNW/ - Russell Investments Canada Limited (Russell Investments) today announced changes to the investment strategies of two of its Funds: Russell LifePoints All Equity Portfolio and Russell LifePoints All Equity Class Portfolio (the "Funds").  Russell Investments will also be changing the names of the Funds to Russell Multi-Asset Growth Strategy and Russell Multi-Asset Growth Strategy Class, which reflects the change in investment strategies.

Russell Investments will be altering the investment strategies of the Funds to target equity-like returns with lower volatility. The investment mix of these two Funds will incorporate a greater proportion of fixed income and foreign investments. While the Funds will continue to primarily invest in equities and real assets, they will also have a strategic allocation of approximately 30% to absolute return and fixed income asset classes.

"With this change, overall portfolio volatility is expected to be reduced by increasing the tactical nature of the product, greater use of high conviction defensive portfolios and the introduction of hedging and option strategies," said David Feather, President and Chief Executive Officer of Russell Investments Canada Limited. 

Russell Multi-Asset Growth Strategy adds a third option to our suite of multi-asset products which provide investors with active portfolios designed to deliver an outcome. Russell Investments' multi-asset products include Russell Multi-Asset Fixed Income, Russell Multi-Asset Growth & Income and now Russell Multi-Asset Growth Strategy.
