Russ Bougie joins Avison Young in Vancouver
Industrial sales and leasing specialist becomes Principal
VANCOUVER, Sept. 10, 2015 /CNW/ - Michael Keenan, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Vancouver office, announced today the strategic hiring of veteran industrial sales and leasing specialist Russ Bougie.
Effective immediately, Bougie becomes a Principal of Avison Young. Based in the company's Vancouver office, he will focus on industrial sales and leasing in Metro Vancouver, working with investors, owner-users, landlords and tenants on building and land sales as well as lease transactions. Prior to joining Avison Young, he spent 17 years with Colliers International in Vancouver, most recently as a Senior Vice-President in the company's industrial division.

Bougie brings 20 years of commercial real estate brokerage and appraisal experience to Avison Young. Before moving into the brokerage field, he spent three years as an appraiser and consultant at Collingwood & Associates, where he worked mainly with oil companies in an advisory role valuing land and service stations.
During his career, Bougie has negotiated more than $550 million worth of sales transactions and 5 million square feet of leasing deals. He has been a consistent high performer and has ranked among Colliers' Top 10 advisors nationally. He also participated in an executive leadership program with 15 North American executives at Colliers from 2012 to 2014 and enjoyed a mentorship role in the firm's Vancouver office.

Bougie is a member of NAIOP and the Urban Development Institute (UDI), and has volunteered with the Burnaby Hospital Foundation, Junior Achievement, and the Boys and Girls Clubs while also coaching minor hockey at the North Shore Winter Club. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in urban land economics from the University of British Columbia and a certificate of environmental management of real estate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
