RPNAO accepting submissions for 'Excellence in Journalism Award' for 2009
TORONTO, April 6 /CNW/ - The Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO) is accepting submissions for a new award to honour excellence in health care reporting, specifically in the area of nursing.
"We're inviting journalists from across Ontario to submit their stories for consideration for the RPNAO Excellence in Journalism Award for 2009," said Rod McCarthy, President of RPNAO. "We're looking for well-constructed and compelling human interest stories that help shine the spotlight on Ontario's nurses and the important work they're doing."
To be eligible for consideration for the award, submissions must meet the following criteria:
Stories must have aired/been published in 2009, Submitting media outlets/journalists should be based in Ontario, Stories should focus at least in part on nurses or the nursing profession and the vital role they play in health care.
Print and broadcast submissions will be considered.
Please submit stories (along with a brief cover letter explaining why your story should receive the award) to [email protected]. Submissions must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010.
The RPNAO Excellence in Journalism Award will be presented at the Annual RPNAO Gala Dinner, which is being held April 29, 2010 in Guelph. This year's gala will be hosted by radio personality Erin Davis from 98.1 CHFI in Toronto. Judging for the award will be conducted by a panel comprised of RPNAO staff, board members and media experts.
