Ross Smith Asset Management Inc. acquires control over commmon shares of Kobex Capital Corp.

CALGARY, May 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Ross Smith Asset Management Inc. ("RSAM") announced that an investment fund it manages and advises, Ross Smith Opportunities Fund ("RSOF"), has acquired 290,500 common shares ("Shares") of Kobex Capital Corp. ("Kobex") since a substantial issuer bid to purchase up to 40,809,178 of the outstanding shares of Kobex was filed by Kobex with the securities regulatory authorities on April 29, 2016. The Shares were acquired through the facilities of the TSX Venture Exchange and Alpha Venture Exchange.

As a result of the acquisition of such Shares, RSAM now beneficially owns and exercises control and direction over 2,397,000 shares of Kobex, representing approximately 5.27% of the 45,481,387 issued and outstanding shares as of May 2, 2016 as per Kobex's Issuer Bid Circular dated April 29, 2016.

RSAM acquired the Shares for investment purposes only and may, depending on market and other conditions, increase or decrease its beneficial ownership, control or direction over, shares or other securities of Kobex through market transactions, private agreements or otherwise.
