Trading Symbol RCR: TSXV
TORONTO, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Rockcliff Resources Inc. ("Rockcliff") (RCR: Tier 1 TSXV) is pleased to announce that Mr. David Constable BSc., MBA has been appointed Rockcliff's Chairman of the Board of Directors effective immediately.
Recently retired from FNX Mining Company Inc. ("FNX") as Vice President of Investor Relations following the merger of FNX with Quadra Mining Ltd., Dave's industry experience is extensive and wide ranging with over forty years experience as an exploration geologist and in senior management roles across North and South America, south-east Asia and Australia.
Dave began his career with the Noranda Group, ran his own geological consulting firm and worked at the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines as Senior Manager of Mineral Development before joining Normandy Mining of Australia as Vice President of Investor Relations, listing the company in North America and leading to the takeover of Normandy in 2002 by Newmont Mining after which he joined FNX.
Dave is a certified director (ICD.D) and an experienced director of junior mining companies such as Aquiline Resources (acquired in 2009 by Pan American) and Moly Mines (successfully financed by Hanlong of China). He is currently Chairman of U3O8 Corp., a uranium exploration company.
Ken Lapierre, President and CEO commented that "the addition of Dave Constable as Chairman of the Board of Directors is a pivotal step forward for our Company. We acquired our Snow Lake Project in central Manitoba due to our conviction that the best place to find a new mine is in an established mining camp. We often refer to this approach as the FNX model and with the addition of Dave Constable we have just taken one giant step closer to realizing Rockcliff's ultimate goal of becoming mine finders."
Rockcliff would also like to report that Mr. Peter Wood has resigned from the Board of Directors to pursue other opportunities. Ken Lapierre commented that "Mr. Wood is a founding shareholder of Rockcliff and has played an important role with the Company. I and the rest of the Board thank Peter for his efforts over the years and wish him the very best going forward."
Mr. Constable's appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
