Rocco Rossi questions Rob Ford's judgment
TORONTO, June 19 /CNW/ - Candidate for Mayor Rocco Rossi questioned Councillor Rob Ford's judgment while speaking today in front of 150 people at a Rexdale barbeque organized by the International Muslim Organization. This came in response to news that Councillor Ford offered to help a constituent illegally purchase prescription drugs.
"Torontonians look to their councillors and mayors to uphold the law," said Mr. Rossi. "Councillor Ford showed spectacularly bad judgment."
Mr. Rossi also questioned Ford's defence.
"Mr. Ford said he was compelled to say what he did to protect his family. If Mr. Ford felt real fear for his family, why did it take him almost two weeks to contact the police?"
"And why did he say MPP Donna Cansfield had contacted the police as well, when the police and the Toronto Sun are saying today she has not yet done so... It doesn't add up."
