Ritchie Bros. to feature record number of items in unreserved Edmonton
auction
Buyers to find more than 5,300 equipment items and trucks in one convenient location with no minimums
EDMONTON, April 23 /CNW/ - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE andTSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, will be conducting a three-day, multi-million dollar unreserved public equipment auction next week at its permanent auction site in Edmonton, AB.
From April 28 to 30, more than 5,300 trucks, construction and agricultural equipment items will be sold to the highest bidders - regardless of price - with no minimum bids or reserve prices. The assortment of equipment featured in the auction will be the largest amount of items available to buyers at the Edmonton site, surpassing even the 5,100 items sold there last September. Items are being added daily to the auction.
"Our Edmonton site last year had a record breaking year, including conducting the largest auction ever in Canadian history, with CAD$93 million in gross auction proceeds on April 28th," said Jake Lawson, Ritchie Bros. Regional Manager. "Edmonton's equipment market is very active right now and this has resulted in us having a record number of items in next week's auction. Buyers will be impressed with the equipment selection and their ability to find what they need in one convenient location."
Next week's Edmonton auction will feature equipment from nearly 700 consignors. Highlights include a major realignment of late model, low hour equipment items for an Edmonton-based rental company. Construction equipment items will be sold on Day 1 (April 28), including 100 hydraulic excavators, 85 crawler tractors, 70 skid steer loaders, 55 wheel loaders and 40 articulated dump trucks. Trucks and transportation items will be sold on Day 2 (April 29), including 150 pick up trucks, 140 truck tractors, 65 dump trucks and water, boom, vacuum, service and flatbed trucks. An assortment of agricultural tractors, combines, balers and a wide variety of farming items will also be sold on Day 2. Trailers, aerial and lifting equipment and forklifts will be sold on Day 3 (April 30).
More than 75 pairs of unused tires for Cat wheel loaders, rock trucks and motor graders will also be sold. Tire brands include Goodyear, Bridgestone, Arctic, and Firestone.
Smaller items and consumer goods will be sold at the auction through the Company's new Timed Auction system. Bids can be placed on the Timed Auction lots online at rbauction.com, through internet kiosks at the auction site, by using free public wireless access at the site or by proxy.
