MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 8, 2015 /CNW/ - As a national sponsor of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, Ricoh Canada Inc., will once again be supporting the cause in a national cleanup effort to clear ponds, lakes and shores across Canada.
Since October 2014, Ricoh Canada shoreline cleanups have taken place from the coast of Newfoundland to British Columbia in supporting the preservation of local communities. Ricoh Canada has helped clear over eighty kilometers of land across Canada through the collection of 256 bags of garbage and 83 bags of recyclable waste which is equivalent to over 1,600 pounds of garbage.
Starting on October 8, 2015, Ricoh Canada locations across the country will participate in local shoreline cleanup events hosted by the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. This year Ricoh Canada aims to expand its support by recruiting volunteers from their local communities.
"At Ricoh Canada, support for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup and the communities that we live and work in has grown significantly," says Eric Fletcher, Vice President of Marketing at Ricoh Canada Inc. "As part of our commitment towards Environmental Sustainability we are expanding this year's efforts and reaching directly into our local communities. Through community engagement and participation in local shoreline cleanups we hope to emphasize the importance of reducing pollution and preserving the habitats of local wildlife."
