Richelieu invests more than $15 million to expand its Drummondville distribution centre

Drummondville facility set to quadruple in size to better serve markets across Quebec

DRUMMONDVILLE, QC, Sept. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- Richelieu Hardware Ltd. announces an investment of more than $15 million to expand its Drummondville distribution centre. The project will increase the facility's footprint from nearly 40,000 to 180,000 square feet.

This expansion responds to Richelieu's growing business and will increase its distribution capacity, enabling the Company to continue serving customers across Montreal's South Shore, the Quebec City region and its South Shore, Centre-du-Québec and the Eastern Townships.

The project was officially launched on Thursday, September 3, with a groundbreaking ceremony held at the Alfred-Nobel Street site, in the presence of Drummondville Mayor Jean-François Houle and Drummond Économique General Manager Gerry Gagnon.

Construction, which will be carried out by Guimond Construction and fully funded by Richelieu, is expected to be completed in time for the new facilities to become operational in spring 2027.

Growth and expansion in North America

This investment in Drummondville is part of Richelieu's growth strategy, which also continues to expand in the United States. The Company recently announced the acquisition of the hardware division of The Penrod Company, a U.S. distributor specializing in hardware and components for residential and commercial doors. This transaction will enable Richelieu to add approximately US$70 million in annual sales and strengthen its presence in the United States. This acquisition will bring the number of Richelieu Hardware distribution centres to 131.
