RH PRECISION Launches Falcon 8 UAV in Nation's Capital

OTTAWA, May 12, 2016 /CNW/ - RH Precision Unmanned announced today that it has been cleared to start flying the newest UAV addition to its fleet of UAVs (drones) in the National Capital Region.

"We are so excited about the potential for the Falcon 8 to raise the bar for super hi-resolution and thermal imaging data for our clients," said Matthew Ryan, RH's Vice President. "We are among the first firms in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec to utilize the Ascending Technologies Falcon 8, and we could not be prouder." Only 15 of these aircraft are being brought into North America at this time.

The Falcon 8 is manufactured in Germany by Ascending Technologies (AscTec), a company recently that has been purchased by Intel. The Falcon 8 offers unprecedented precision and reliability, with the triple- redundant AscTec 'Trinity' flight control software, and highly accurate GPS positioning. The state-of-the-art design enables the aircraft to capture the highest quality data in virtually every kind of engineering and agricultural discipline.

"Flying it is such a joy," says Alex Healy, RH's President and Chief Pilot. "It is extremely stable and responsive in weather conditions that would ground most of the other commercial UAVs available on the market."

The Falcon 8 and its payload sensors have the capability to render 3D point cloud models, and is tightly integrated with emerging software suites for UAV data collection and orthomosaic image stitching.

"At the end of the flight, it is all about the data," adds Ryan. "We go where our client's employees can't. Our clients get the data they need to reduce risk and make better decisions faster."
