ReproMed - The Toronto Institute for Reproductive Medicine Launches the Sibling Registry for Families with Donor Conceived Offspring
TORONTO, Nov. 13, 2012 /CNW/ - ReproMed, the Canadian leader in sperm banking services, announces the launch of a Sibling Registry that offers families of donor conceived offspring the tools to identify, research, and connect with other siblings. This voluntary program is the first and only registry of its kind in Canada. ReproMed's Sibling Registry is expected to offer further support for families with donor conceived offspring.
"ReproMed believes that some donor conceived offspring may wish to connect with other siblings and families that have used the same donor, the ReproMed Sibling Registry has been designed to achieve this goal" said Dr. Alfonso Del Valle, ReproMed's Medical Director. "Although there are no regulatory requirements for a similar registry, we felt that it was the right thing to do," he continued.
Families of donor conceived children who have used a Canadian semen donor from ReproMed's sperm bank may voluntarily register in a secure and safe environment. Information about the new registry can be found at: www.repromedsiblingregistry.ca.
