SASKATOON, Dec. 1 /CNW/ - Pulse Days 2010 will be held January 11 & 12, 2010 in Saskatoon, SK. This year's theme is "Tools For Success."
"The conference is about recognizing the growth and success of the Saskatchewan pulse industry, while preparing producers for the future," says Amanda Olekson, Communications Manager for the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG).
Conference topics include Management Practices to Maximize Returns, Competitiveness in the Global Food Market, The Nutrient Contribution of Pulse Crops to Next Year's Crops and SPG funded research projects. The afternoon will end off with market outlook panels.
"We have devoted our entire afternoon to market outlooks, recognizing the importance of this information to farmers," explains Olekson. "We will have three moderated market outlook question and answer panels on chickpeas, peas and lentils."
The conference will run on Tuesday, January 12 starting at 8:00 AM. Things will kick off on Monday evening at Prairieland Park with the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers Annual General Meeting (AGM) and FREE Beef on a Bun Dinner at 5:00 PM, followed by the Opening Reception and Poster Session at 7:00 PM.
"Traditionally more than 1,000 producers attend," Olekson says, "and people have already begun securing their spots. The best way to guarantee your first choice of location is to register early. To accommodate the large numbers, we will continue to offer the option of attending at either Prairieland Park (in conjunction with the Western Canadian Crop Production Show) or the Saskatoon Inn (where the speakers will present live)."
Early Registration - Saskatchewan residents save $20 CDN by registering before Friday, December 18, 2009. For residents outside of Saskatchewan, registration is $40 CDN.
