Mr. Trudeau (, the eldest son of former Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, is one of several real-life political figures to pay an on-screen visit to the fictitious community of Fairfax. The Right Honourable Kim Campbell (, Canada's first and only female prime minister, and renowned former Member of Parliament Jean Augustine, the first black woman elected to the House of Commons, have also filmed cameo appearances.

She's The Mayor was created by Jennifer Holness, Min Sook Lee and Sudz Sutherland.
