Yet, despite their accomplishments, Canada ranks in the bottom five of the G20 when it comes to entrepreneurs seeing self-made worth as something to celebrate, according to the EY G20 Entrepreneurship Barometer 2013.

Nominees must meet all of the following criteria:

Be an owner, CEO or CEO-equivalent of a private or public company that
is at least three years old

Have some ownership of the company

Be primarily responsible for the company's recent performance
- Be an active member of top management
