RBC Global Asset Management appoints Brandon Gill New as Global Head of Private Markets to drive next phase of alternatives growth

TORONTO, Oct. 13, 2026 /CNW/ -- RBC Global Asset Management ("RBC GAM") today announced the appointment of Brandon Gill New as Global Head of Private Markets.

Based in Toronto and reporting to Stu Kedwell, Global Chief Investment Officer of RBC GAM, Ms. Gill New will be responsible for leading the firm's private market strategy, and for expanding the offerings by asset class and geography to both institutional and retail clients. Ms. Gill New started today and succeeds Michael Kitt in the role, following his transition to Vice Chair with RBC GAM late last year.

Growing alternative asset class solutions is a key priority for RBC GAM, and this appointment marks an important evolution of its private markets business, which currently comprises Canadian real estate, global infrastructure and Canadian commercial mortgages. Since formally launching its private markets solutions in 2019, RBC GAM has grown this asset class to over $15 billion in client investments and has turned it into a key contributor towards achieving the firm's target of $1.1 trillion in assets under management by 2029.

Ms. Gill New has over 25 years of global investment experience. Most recently, she was Managing Director and Head of External Partnerships, Public Equities at Alberta Investment Management Company, one of Canada's largest pension funds. Prior to that, she held increasingly senior roles at OPTrust, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board and another Canadian bank.
