TORONTO, Nov. 30, 2016 /CNW/ - Ramp Communications Inc. (Ramp), a Toronto-based marketing agency with clients in the non-profit, healthcare, education and mental health sectors recently announced its B Corporation certification. B Corporations are forward-thinking companies that commit to high standards of transparency and accountability while using the power of business to create legitimate social and environmental benefits. Ramp joins over 1,800 Certified B Corporations from more than 120 industries in 50 countries with one unifying goal – to redefine success in business.
"Building a 'force for good' business has always been a priority for us," says Ramp president Shelley Mayer. "We're so pleased that becoming a Certified B Corporation provides a framework to help us do that. Our hard work has paid off with this achievement."
Ramp was the first organization to partner with Ryerson University's Corporate Social Responsibility Student Association and Toronto's MaRs Discovery District in a pilot project to help brands become Certified B Corporations. Ramp worked with Ryerson student and B Impact consultant Alex Burke to complete its assessment. "I believe that working with Ramp helped Alex understand the certification process, allowing her to develop the tools necessary to assist other organizations," said Kaitlyn O'Neill, president of the student association. "We hope that our work with Ramp inspires other organizations to join the B Corporation movement and make the world a better place."
