TORONTO, Sept. 29, 2014 /CNW/ - Rainbow Cinema, located at 1111 Elgin Street West, Northumberland Mall, Cobourg will be opening on Friday, October 3.
Plans are already underway to retrofit the cinema during the first months of operation. The upgrades in seats, sound and other amenities will optimize the cinema's appeal to its regular patrons and will also attract new patrons from many sections of Northumberland county and neighbouring communities.
Movie fans at Rainbow Cobourg will be able to enjoy first run Hollywood hits along with a variety of art and alternative films including The Northumberland Film Sundays that will return to home-base in January 2015.
The adult admissions will be $10 while the students will pay $7. Senior (65+) and child (3-13) tickets will be reduced to $6. Rainbow Cinema will also introduce its discount Tuesday policy when tickets for all age groups will be only $5 for any movie.
Films slated for October 3 are: The Box Trolls, The Hundred Foot Journey and The Maze Runner. Movies and showtimes will be regularly available in the local newspapers, at RainbowCinemas.ca and the 24 hour movie line at: (905) 372-2444.

Rainbow Cinemas are owned by Magic Lantern Theatres which is a Canadian Exhibition Company that was established in 1980. The company has a proud history of initiating support for local causes within the communties in which its cinemas operate. With the opening of the Rainbow Cinema Cobourg, the company will expand its operations to 17 cinema locations across Canada with a total of 90 screens.
